Christmas 2011

Well, Christmas this year was definitely different... It was mine and Dion's first Christmas as a married couple and our first Christmas with Tavin! And it was my first summer Christmas... And it was weird. I missed being cold and snuggling in a blanket on Christmas. Oh well. At least for my first Australian Christmas I had my mom so it wasn't all completely different. On Christmas Eve we had a family Christmas party at Dion's sisters house up the coast. It was fun and we had good food! We came back home that night... We woke up Christmas morning had breakfast and opened presents, then went to church. That night we went up to Dion's parents house and had dinner up there. It was a good Christmas! Here's pics from our present opening... Don't mind my hair... It was curled the day before... Ha!

Tavin's Blessing

One the first Sunday my mom was here (Dec. 9th) we blessed our sweet little boy! It was a good day! We had a luncheon at our friends house after church with all the family. It was good food I must say! My mom and I made most of the food! Here are a few pics from that day...

My mom got to come out for 3 weeks! I loved having her here! I missed having her around. She was a BIG help. She helped clean a lot and watch Tavin while Dion was at work and I napped. We had lots of fun going out and doing tourist things! It was a great 3 weeks and I wished she stayed longer. Here are some pics my mom took of us...

Tavin Lorenz Willcocks

So I thought it's time I update my blog. So, here it goes...

On November 20, 2011 at 12:56pm (Sydney time) I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! At about 4 in the morning on November 20th my water broke. That whole experience was not what I expected. We left for the hospital at about 4:30. I started getting little contractions in the car. Once we got to the hospital they put me in a room to time my contractions and all that. I was in there for a couple of hours. They contractions were getting worse. I was dilated 3cm. They then transfered me into the delivery room. The contraction were getting even more painful at this time. They gave me gas to have for the pain. It wasn't working for me, I could still feel the pain very well. I ended up throwing up from the gas. All I wanted was an epidural but they wanted to wait until I was dilated more. They finally decided to give me the epidural. I was very nervous about not moving. Every time a contraction came I was in so much pain I was moving everywhere. Thankfully I did very well staying still for the epidural. Let me tell you, the epidural was AMAZING! It was so nice not feeling the pain. After the epidural every time I got a contraction I had a lot of pressure in my tailbone and it killed. By this time I was dilated a 7. I ended up falling asleep. At about noon they came in and checked my dilation and said it was time to push. And thankfully the pressure in my tailbone stopped hurting. I ended up pushing for about 50 mins. From first pain to delivery my labor was 8 1/2 hours long. It was a really good experience! I'm very lucky to have had a good pregnancy and labor! We love our little boy! He's the cutest little thing! He's 7 weeks old now! 12lbs! He can roll over, hold his head up pretty good. He talks lots (like his dad)! I'm loving being a mom! It's the greatest thing! I'll post pics and videos of him soon! :)
